Heroes

In the world we live in, the heroes of today lie in ones heart and beliefs. Do heroes wish to become one? Do they accidentally bestow upon themselves the title of a hero? Or do they simply want to help their country? These are simple questions that can only be answered by the heroes themselves. The common recognition of a hero are the firefighters, police, military, and more. Which is most definitely true, but are they the only heroes of today? Could parents, teachers, friends, ordinary men and women on the streets of Philippines be a hero? Could these people be heroes? Let me ask you, do you believe that you could someday be a hero? The answer to that question is always yes. View a hero in the eyes of a young child, a hero to child can be someone waiting to have a loving family and adopting them, giving them the chance for a better life, or a hero to a child can be their mother or father in their struggle forPhilippines freedom. View a hero as anything, a dog being saved by a veterinarian, or even just being someone’s friend can make a hero. Does a hero have to be someone renowned? Someone of status? No it doesn’t. Not many people realize what a hero can be characterized as, seeing as its not on television, on the radio, or in cell phones and ipods. If we search outside the technology we would encounter a world where acts of kindness are being committed every second of our day. Helping someone with groceries to a car, holding a door open, or even saying something as common as please and thank you can encourage others to pursue good acts of kindness wherever they go, and one day thinking of that act of kindness that made them who they are. People who go day to day doing acts of kindness often die without mention and still have pride in the life they left on Earth. The heroes of Philippines are all the people, wealthy, middle class, or struggling, who live everyday still working hard to love their God, lovePhilippines, and love each other with words that cannot be described. Today’s heroes, to me, are President Benigno Aquino III, he gives the Philippines hope for a better future. He gives us proof that nothing is impossible if you just dream, believe, and achieve. Another one of my heroes is my father. My father always taught me that honesty, friendship, and family are three most important treasures you can have in this world and as long as you have them you have everything. Also, my heroes are my friends. We come from different cultures and ethnicities, we come from different family morals and beliefs, and we come from different everything and anything, But that makes my friends my world, we don’t care that we look a certain way or have different opinions, but we are always there for each other when we lose hope, or have problems of any kind. That’s something not a lot of people can have. I feel lucky for the life I have, not always pleasant but always worth living. Lend a hand of thank you to every person in life that you see do anything small or big that is an act of kindness to another person or even lend a thank you to anyone at all, Because today’s heroes are all around you. We live in a world where the heroes have increased and the thank you’s have apparently decreased. Its time our Philippines stepped up and became the nation I know we can become.
